Refund & Cancellation Policy
If you make an amendment to your policy where your insurer grants a refund, you will be entitled to the full amount being offered as we do not charge a fee for making adjustments to your policy, we will inform you of the amount due once confirmed by your insurance company.
As per the Financial Conduct Authority distance selling regulations you have the right to cancel the policy within 14 days. Any refund will be subject to reasonable deductions from the insurer for your time on cover and also our service charge, which is non refundable. Please note that a full refund of the insurer’s premium including Insurance Premium Tax will be available if you cancel the insurance prior to the policy start date however our service charge is non-refundable.
If you decide to cancel after the 14 days and before the end of the contract length you will be charged a £30.00 cancellation fee prior to the policy being cancelled. A guide to the cancellation charges applied by your insurers after the 14 days will be detailed in your policy wording.
Please note that all refunds will be processed to your credit/debit card or original method of payment once The Insurance Octopus has received the funds from your insurance company.
