How insurance for magicians works
We offer a range of bespoke covers giving entertainers peace of mind
As a professional magician you’ll need a reliable business insurance policy that will help to protect yourself from risks associated with your business. Working in the entertainments industry it’s important to make sure that you are fully insured as working alongside the general public poses many risks to both yourself and others, and unfortunately things can sometimes go wrong.
To help you when things to go as planned, make sure you’re financially protected with a tailored and comprehensive entertainment insurance policy with The Insurance Octopus.
What your magicians insurance policy includes
Public Liability insurance
Public Liability insurance cover provides protection in case someone who works for your business injures or damages a member of the public or their property. If the third party then claims against your business and are awarded damages, your Public Liability insurance would cover the costs including legal fees that may occur in defending a claim. Public Liability Insurance is one of the most common insurance policy elements. Policy covers are available from £1m, £2m, £5m and can be higher upon request and subject to the insurer’s terms and conditions.
Employers Liability insurance for magicians
Employers Liability insurance is a legal obligation to have if you employ permanent or temporary members of staff. As an employer, it is a legal responsibility to ensure that you have provided safe and secure surroundings for your employees. Cover is available at a standard level of £10m.
Additional insurance policy covers
As a professional magician, you need to have the right insurance package at the right cost for the right insurance cover. The Insurance Octopus will endeavour to put a tailored business insurance package together for your specific entertainment business. Additional extras may include equipment cover.
Why do magicians need insurance?
As a magician, the last thing you’ll want to worry about is the potential costs incurred if something goes wrong when you’re performing. That’s why it’s important to look to get yourself covered and protect your financial security whether you’re a self employed magician or run a magician entertainment business. Effective insurance cover for magicians is therefore essential, and you may find vendors and clients in many instances will request proof of insurance as part of their own standard security checks.
