Understanding musician insurance
Effective business insurance cover designed for the musically inclined
As a professional musician you’ll need a reliable business insurance policy that will help you protect yourself and your band from risks associated with your business. You may need to also consider a specific musician insurance policy if you are a specialist musician, if you play large and expensive instruments or you work in many locations.
Whatever your musical speciality, we can help you save time and money on your musicians insurance policy and personalise your business insurance to your requirements. Whether you play solo or are in a band, our policies are designed to be flexible, allowing you to customise a low cost policy exactly how you need it and ensuring you have all of the essential cover in one simple insurance package.
What your musicians insurance policy includes
Public Liability insurance for musicans
Public Liability insurance cover provides protection in case someone who works for your business injures or damages a member of the public or their property. If the third party then claims against your business and are awarded damages, your Public Liability insurance would cover the costs including legal fees that may occur in defending a claim. Public Liability Insurance is one of the most common insurance policy elements. Policy covers are available from £1m, £2m, £5m and can be higher upon request and subject to the insurer’s terms and conditions.
Employers Liability cover
Employers Liability insurance is a legal requirement if you employ anyone or pay additional band members on an ad-hoc basis that use your instrumental equipment. An Insurance Octopus standard Employers Liability insurance policy is £10m cover.
All Risk protection
All Risk protection covers your equipment. As a musician, this will cover your items such as instruments, amps, microphones and even your laptop (subject to terms and conditions and policy limits).
What type of musicians can we cover?
Our musician insurance is suitable for a wide range of different types of musicians, whether your self employed or have set yourself up as a limited company to perform, we can help arrange your musician insurance cover.
