Something’s becoming Clear – we are!  Soon The Insurance Octopus will become Clear Business.

From 28th February 2024, we will be using the name Clear Business for all our business insurance services.

What do you need to do? Nothing.

You’ll still receive the same high levels of customer service using the same contact number with the same policy number and documents.  But you’ll now be able to find out about the telecoms, utilities and payment services offered across the Clear Business group, as well as insurance, on our Clear Business group website and social channels.

Insurance services are arranged by TBO Services Limited trading as The Insurance Octopus and from 28th February 2024, Clear Business.

  • Why is The Insurance Octopus changing its name? 

    The Insurance Octopus has been part of the Clear Business group for 8 years. To keep things simple for customers across all essential services, everything is coming together under the Clear Business brand name. Customers will continue to have access to telecoms, water, gas and electricity, payment services and business insurance* – less hassle for small business customers. All our services in one place under one brand.

  • What is rebranding? 

    From 28th February 2024 we will no longer use the name The Insurance Octopus. You will see our new name Clear Business across all our letters, emails, website and social channels. When you call us, our colleagues will use the name Clear Business when talking about your existing coverage and/or any queries you may have.

  • What happens if people have ongoing claims?  

    Any existing claims will continue to be supported by our team and the insurers we work alongside.

  • Will the rebrand affect my policy? 

    No. You will just see the name Clear Business on covering letters, emails and other communication channels you currently subscribe to. There will be no change to existing insurance cover, premiums or terms and conditions.

  • Will the rebrand affect my premiums or coverage?  

    No, changing our trading name will not affect the premium you pay or the coverage you receive from your insurer.

  • What should people do if they have any concerns?

  • Are you still FCA regulated? 

    Yes. Only our trading name is changing. We are still TBO Services Limited which you can find on the FCA register here: TBO Services Limited (fca.org.uk)

    Under trading names, you will see “Clear Business”.

    Clear Business is a trading name of TBO Services Limited which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.   • Will my upcoming policy renewal be impacted by the name change?

    Before 28th February, all renewal communications will be sent from The Insurance Octopus. From 28th February, all renewal communications will be sent from Clear Business.

    During this time, if you are in the process of renewing your policy you may receive communications from both brands.

    However, if you are unsure if an email is genuine, please give us a call on 0161 968 2030 and we will look into this for you.

  • Will I see the Clear Business name on my payment arrangement?

    Yes, for any payments made on or after 28th February directly to us. If you have a payment arrangement with Close Brothers Premium Finance, the payment name will not change.

  • I recently made a complaint. Will the name change affect this?

    No, the name change will not affect any complaint you have made to us or to the Financial Ombudsman. Only our trading name has changed and this is listed on the FCA Register under our firm name, TBO Services Limited.

  • I’ve sent an email to The Insurance Octopus; do I need to resend it?

    No, all emails will automatically redirect to our new email addresses, so don’t worry. You’ll see our new email address when we reply.

  • Are there any other benefits to me following the name change?  

    The Clear Business group offer more essential services to UK small businesses than any other provider, including telecoms, utilities and payment services, as well as insurance* – giving you more of that essential time to run your business. Simple.
